Who, What, Where and Why Not
Well, it is simple and here is the short answer. I have been in contact with Christine on and off for 15 plus years now. When I think about it, Christine is one of the few models that I have stayed in touch with, other models from “back then” have disappeared and I have not been heard from. We went to dinner back in January and we discussed “how things are” and discussed doing a follow up shoot. The idea just started kicking around in my head. So I was thinking (Christine start to worry) how about “going back to the same places and re-shoot, comparing the now to the then” A fifteen-year comparison. I know it’s been 15 years and everything has changed, by that I mean the landscape is different, the cameras are different (digital vs. film), how I approach photography is different, even Christine and I are different people now. So what? That’s the reason why we should do it, because we are different and the environment and photography has changed. Does that make any sense? And to add to this idea, I would follow it up with another shoot in 15 more years! O.K. it’s an idea, comparing the 15-year intervals, zero fifteen and thirty years. I am not pushing it past that. Plus it would be fun to see Christine in that wave sequence again. How about making the family vacation pictures movie. I wonder if they still show that movie? It was fun then and it’s time to do it again.
Thanks Dennis
